Interesting Facts on Jupiter :-
  • Jupiter has 63 moons At the time that I'm writing this, Jupiter has a total of 63 named satellites. Almost all of them are less than 10 kilometers in diameter, and were only discovered after 1975, when the first spacecraft arrived at Jupiter. One of its moons, Ganymede, is the largest satellite in the Solar System, measuring 5262 km across.
  • Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and is so large that approximately 1300 Earths can fit in it. Jupiter's mass ( 1.9 x 1027 kg ) is 318 times the mass of the Earth, and is 2.5 times the mass of the summation of masses of the other 8 planets in the solar system.  It's diameter is 11.2 times of that of the Earth, and its volume is 1321 times the volume of the Earth.
  • The Clouds on Jupiter are only 50 km thick, all those beautiful whirling clouds and storms you see on Jupiter are only about 50 km thick. They're made of ammonia crystals broken up into two different cloud decks.
  •  According to scientific studies, it is discovered that Jupiter’s core is very thick, just like a super hot soup.
  • Jupiter is the fastest spinning of the planets. The fast rotation stirs the atmosphere and clouds into dark and light colored stripes called belts and zones. In 1995, the space probe Galileo sent a mini probe down into the atmosphere and found that the winds on Jupiter blew far stronger than any winds on Earth. Jupiter's Great Red Spot extends more than three times the Earth's diameter. The Great Red Spot lies across Jupiter's southern end.
